History

In May of 1984 a group of undergraduate students at The Ohio State University set out to research the country for other co-ed Hispanic Greek-lettered organizations. Their objective was to establish a local chapter and advocate for the needs of Latinos/as on their campus. After an extensive search proved no such organization existed, they decided to form their own fraternity. On March 10, 1985 thirteen courageous men and women were officially initiated into what is now Alpha Psi Lambda. These members set the foundation for what is now the nation's first co-ed Latino/a interest fraternity.
